Week 5 is Wellness Week which to most simply means no homework. Wellness Week is about promoting mental health awareness in not only our students, but our families and teachers as well.
Yes, our students are given the week off from homework (except reading) but they are also encouraged to practice good mental health strategies in class and at home. I have attached a link below that students and parents can visit at home. Smiling Mind is a website that includes relaxation techniques, reflection strategies, gentle exercises and ways to help avoid and reduce stress. We have already looked at some of these practices and will look at them again each day this week.
During Wellness Week, we will be looking at the importance of mental health and what we can do to avoid and reduce stress.
